Suprema, Los Angeles - "LA used to have 10000 pay phones, now there's fewer than 1000. The ones left are in a sorry state, some are just a husk, including this one, as it's too expensive to remove them and people in the poorer parts of town are far less likely to complain so they just paint over what's left making them even more striking. They stand out and I can't imagine they are easy to paint. Make sure next time you watch the movie 'Heat' you look out for how many pay phones they use."

Telephone Booths is a continuation of my debut series 'Hand Dryers'. Both series capture the everyday objects surrounding us that we fail to notice to examine what they say about us and the way we treat the world around us.
