The Original Trailer Park Lounge, NYC - "The last time I travelled to teach hair cutting was in 2019 to Norfolk, VA with the guys from Davines. On the way home I stopped in New York for a couple of days and the kind people from Davines took me hand dryer hunting. This bar was the first one we went to and it was heaving. I ran in, took the photo and we went on our way. I wasn't expecting to be exhibiting images at that point so when the chance did arrive to have a physical show I decided that I wasn't happy with what I'd captured. So a year later, with the cheapest flight I've ever seen to New York, in early 2020 I went back. There were a few places on my list but this was the one that I had down as a priority. By now though my book had been released so I could show people in a more concrete way what I was up to. The barman loved it and gave me his blessing to go fill my boots with as many pictures as I like. This has been my best-selling image from day one. It's the first picture in my book and it's the one that captures people the second they see it. I love everything about it, the hand-painted dryer and the googly eyes on one of the parrots it took me over a year to notice. The boy's bathroom wasn't half as exciting, which is something I've come to expect."

Framing Information

Frame: All frames come in white with an open-grain finish. If you would like a different colour frame then please email hello@samuelryde.com.

Glass: Each framed order comes with standard glass. Non-reflective art glass can also be used but costs more.

Acrylic: Printed on gloss photographic film, bonded to 5mm thick acrylic with optically clear adhesive. The edges are diamond polished and hand-buffed for a glass-like finish.

International orders will have non-reflective acrylic glass as standard.

Medium: Giclee print on Silk Baryta paper.

Each editioned print is signed and numbered by Samuel.

Accompanying signed certificate of authenticity with each editioned artwork.

HD Acrylic options are ready to hang with an aluminium subframe behind making it light enough to hang on two screws.

I bought 3 images from Mr. Ryde. The quality of the prints is exceptionally high. I bought the small size and hung them in by bathrooms. Lots of compliments and the colors pop.

Awesome print

I absolutely love all the Samuel Ryde prints - I think it's brilliant how he captures the soul and uniquiness of these seemingly normal settings, and finds vibrant, interesting and rich images. I purchased the Two Bits Retro print, and am considering buying a couple more. The print is even better in the flesh - very high quality, vivid and vibrant. I've had it hanging up for a couple of days, and already has got a lot of comments from visitors. It takes people quite some time to see it's a hand dryer - and most thinking it's just a really cool piece of art. Really happy with it and looking forward to buying more Samuel Ryder prints and art work in the future.
